Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA tournament

March 15, 2012 4:06 am

I cannot begin to say how happy and excited I am to see the Kansas Jayhawks as the number 2 seed in the Midwest Region of the upcoming NCAA Basketball tournament.  I still remember the first time I became a true Kansas Jayhawks fan it was in 1986 when I was in high school and I would see the Kansas Jayhawks along with coach Larry Brown and player Danny Manning as they would just dominate the then Big 8 Conference before it got bigger and more complicated as the Big XII conference.  Then KU would roll through the NCAA tournament until it played Duke in the National Semifinal when they lost but the Jayhawks gave them a great fight and it was even sweeter because two years the two re-met in another National Semifinal 1988 but this time the Jayhawks took full advantage of the situation and also beat Oklahoma for the National Championship.  I am looking forward to the 2012 NCAA Basketball Tournament and see how the KU does, hopefully they will be able to win it all again. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Jayhawks Win Despite Lack of Performance

January 23, 2010 4:19 pm

Today, KU defeats Iowa State by more than 20 points, but without the performance of one key player - Xavier Henry.  He had two airballs in the second half from beyond the arc and looked like he had no idea what to do when he had the ball for the majority of the game.  Bill Self needs to whip him into shape before March comes knocking at the door of Allen Fieldhouse.
